Brazilian Idol
Ten American tennis players hoped Paris would be divine,
One drew Roger Federer in R1and then there were nine.
Nine American tennis players thought their chances of advancing were great,
A rookie went up against an Argentinean and then there were eight.
Eight American tennis players were in Grand Slam heaven,
One was knocked-out by a fellow American and then there were seven.
Seven American tennis players believed they were the sure picks,
One mistook a 13th attempt for being lucky and then there were six.
Six American tennis players were pumped to play Roland Garros live,
A qualifier was left in the red dust and then there were five.
Five American tennis players in R2 feared clay courts no more,
A Davis Cup champion fell and then there were four.
Four American tennis players were confident and carefree,
Australia's Lleyton Hewitt said "No Deal" to one and then there were three.
Three American tennis players not ready to bid the French Open adieu,
An Ecuadorian veteran saved face and then there were two.
Two American tennis players made a slammin' 3rd round run,
Djokovic ended Cinderella's fairytale and then there was one
One lone American tennis player in R4 going for a championship stun,
Chile's Gonzalez moves ahead though an awesome job Ginepri has done.
At Roland Garros it's been five years since an American man has reached R4,
Apparently on red clay we're actually able to soar.
If not the title then it's our hearts Robby has won,
But alas…then there were none.
