McEnroe "Gets on the bus"
It used to be that fast food, cheap motels and a sense of adventure were all you needed for a rockin' cross-country road-trip - but the USTA raised the bar when they recently added tennis legend John McEnroe to "the greatest roadtrip in sports".
Stepping in as a last minute replacement in the Olympus US Open Series TV ads, McEnroe (who was actually the USTA's first choice for the spots) is the ultimate backseat driver, with enough mojo to challenge Federer as the "World's Greatest Tennis Player" and taunt Nadal with "Hasta la vista Rafa!",
It seems one man's crash is another's victory - the ads are funny because it's John McEnore - despite the winding road it took to get there,
Then again, it is about the journey.
