Finding the rhythm during a match is the aim of every top tennis pro, but ATP world number 26 Russian Dmitry Tursunov is proving to be a specialist at turning the beat around off the court as well.

The imaginative story teller, who’s well-known for his blog, The Tursunov Tales, is using the turntable for his latest creation – fusing eclectic styles of music and spinning his flair for the narrative flow into electrifying dance mixes. And true to his style, Tursunov’s touch of originality takes the conventional straight into the unknown.

Tursunov, who won his 4th ATP title in Sydney this year, says of his choices on his music page at 4shared.com, “Most of the tracks are not very mainstream but that's because you already hear enough of them in the club so I'm trying to stay away from the generality…there is plethora of tracks that are hard to find and would rival the anthems for a spot on the turntables.” The results are seamless blends of alternative Progressive House, Electro and Trance mixes that captivates the listener in each and every moment.

Stepping away from boundaries like release dates, particular artists, specific genres or ratings is easy for Tursunov, thanks to his keen insight and perception that’s been developed on the tennis court, “As long as it's something that I like and am capable of mixing it together you might end up hearing Techno with Commercial House and Lounge on the same track,” he says.

And each final product tells an alluring story that rivals one of his blog entries. He explains, “There are ways to pass on a message…which is why I liked music so much to begin with. Any song has a potential to carry on the message to its listener and that's the beauty of it.”

Kind of like a disco inferno!
